Little London Fields Festival

Last weekend London gave birth to the loud screaming Little London Fields Festival - in the park with the same name. My friend Scarlet was involved in bringing it to live. She said the whole thing was organised by just a handful of people and a mini budget. With their passion and hard work plus the help of volunteers and bands who played for booze instead of money - they managed to pull of a FREE fun fest that I hope will flourish and grow in the coming years. So the "Little" one will become BIG! But please: Don't grow up!!!

As you can tell from the photos - the Londoners loved it.

It looks like you had lots of fun!! Birmingham tried to hold a similar city festival type event this weekend in the name of the Little Chill - it was supposed to be held at the Custard Factory but some tosser let off a gun the other week and the late licence has been revoked so it was at the Hare and Hounds in Kings Heath..sorry to say it fell flat on its face - a pub is just not the place to hold a mini festival!! I'm glad your London version well enough for both cities ! :)

Ah Ellie, sorry to hear! I cant imagine why someone thought that having a festival in a pub is a good idea.
I think Bham needs a kick up its arse. It seems people are too stuck in their routines. Someone needs to take over and do something fresh.
The Custard Factory cant be the answer to everything. There need to be proper alternatives. But who am I telling this? I am sure you got that impression long time ago.

Just pop down to London more often. Or Manchester is cool as well for music.

But then again that's the problem. Everyone just escapes from Birmingham. No one dares to stay and make a change. Including me. I made a runner as soon as I could. It's sad for a city when it cant hold the students and creative folks. Not a very bright future in that sense.

:(
